Here are photos of the modified carb drum valve from Alan Hewson's ST 2300...great photos, and perfectly shows the correct groove needed.  Note that it is "longer" than stock, caused by the diameter of the Dremel wheel, which must be watched!!!  The wall needs to be smooth, and the depth of the groove the same throughout it's length.
