I have no information on this header, but it was so professional-looking,
that I just HAD to make it available to everyone.
Contact Karl (name above hyperlinks to his email) for any information.
Hi Bob,
Visited your website and found that you're working on an
installation for a ST2300. I have just completed one in a fixed
gear U.S.A. Star this summer and put about 4 gal. through the
engine in this setup. Using a wrap-around header, which I
had to make myself since there were none available over
the counter for this engine and this setup. I am using a standard
60 size pipe (Hatory #650), crankcase pressure with a Cline
regulator with the tank positioned over the C.G. The vertical
performance is equal to if not better than a 140FZ. Plane weights
10 1/2 pounds and is stretched to 2m's. Performance is great
and no problems with transitions. Swinging a 16x12 apc at
8400 rpm's and will idle down to 1500 rpm.s (with heavy prop).
Have not been able to make any noise measurements, but it
does not sound any noisier than about 94 to 96 dB. I will be
working on getting it a little quieter so I can meet the 94 dB
reading required at contest.
